- Avoid sweets – Love sweets? Listen up; the sugars found in desserts cause an upsurge of insulin levels. This results to cell damage and can evolve to diabetic retinopathy. If you care about your sense of sight, this is the right time to stop – or limit – the amount of sweets that you eat.
- Wear proper eye protector – Apart from sunglasses, consider wearing protectors if you are working or playing sports. In the workplace, most industrial employers require their workers to wear one. In sports such as racquetball, ice hockey and baseball, players need protectors to avoid damaging eye injuries.
- Exercise – Staying in good shape is one of the most effective and inexpensive way to keep your eyesight healthy. Increased blood and oxygen circulation cuts the risk of developing glaucoma.
- Remember your eyes when using gadgets – Whether you watch television, use computer or your smartphones, or play with your gaming consoles, remember not to put yourself to close. This prevents you from having low vision.
- Eat healthy – Exercise is incomplete without eating healthy. For eyes’ natural therapies, take the following: Carrots have both beta-carotene and vitamin A that is essential. Green leafy vegetables contain lutein, which address macular degeneration. Fish has omega-3 fatty acids that prevent dry eyes.
