For Acne:
One of the most known benefits of tea tree oil is its use as a home remedy for acne. A 5% solution of tea tree oil works just as well as over-the-counter acne remedies.
All you need to do is dilute a couple of drops of tea tree oil along with 20 to 40 drops of witch hazel, and apply the solution to the skin once or twice a day using a cotton swab. Just be careful not to overuse it.
Word of caution: when applying this solution to your face, stay out from the sun as much as possible — tea tree oil can make your skin more sensitive to the sun’s UV rays.
For Colds:
Tea tree oil is extracted from the tree (melaleuca), which is native to both Southeast Queensland and New South Wales, Australia. Tea tree oil is known to have antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic and antiviral properties. Used in an inhaler or in a bath, tea tree oil helps you ward off congestion and the resulting discomfort caused by the cold or the flu.
