Diabetes is described as a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar, either because of insulin production is inadequate, or because the body’s cells don’t respond properly to insulin, or to both. Patients with high blood sugar will usually experience polyuria (frequent urination), they’ll become increasingly thirsty (polydipsia) ad hungry (polyphagia).

Eating whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans and seeds help manage diabetes.

Adding a lot of greens as a base in your diet is necessary if you’re worried about spikes in blood sugars. In addition, sweet potato is also a great food for diabetes, as with berries and pineapples as well.
