Asian Ginseng / Panax Ginseng — Lung Cancer
According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), there are three herbs that are most helpful when it comes to treating your lung cancer — the American ginseng, Asian ginseng and grapeseed. Other herbs that are capable of doing the same include astragalus, ginger, turmeric and thyme.
Among the three, Asian ginseng is said to be the most powerful one of them all when it comes to treating lung cancer. Studies suggest that this herbal remedy may lower your risks of acquiring certain types of cancer, other than lung cancer, it also treats liver, ovarian and pancreatic cancer. Other studies also showed that Asian ginseng may suppress the growth of tumor, although UMMC concedes further research may be needed to fully verify this health effect.
Asian ginseng may also be helpful in improving both your mental and physical endurance levels.
Asian Ginseng / Panax Ginseng — High Blood Sugar and Cholesterol
In Western herbal medicine, Panax ginseng’s regulating effects on the immune system have been studied for potential effectiveness in helping prevent colds, flu and some forms of cancer. In clinical studies, Panax ginseng has been shown to lower blood levels of both sugar and cholesterol, thus it may help treat type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol.
