Nervous tension is characterized by restlessness, mental and physical unrest, emotional agitation or tightness of the nerves and muscles, or a state of non-specific nervous excitation. The muscle tension causes headaches, stomach upset, muscle soreness and strain especially around the neck and shoulder area.
Nervous tension is not actually classified as a disorder, but a neuromuscular reaction to anxiety, stress or emotional conflict (either conscious or unconscious). This condition requires much greater amounts of Calcium, Magnesium, B vitamins and other specific nutrients for the body. If these nutrients are leached out of the body by excessive consumption of sugar and refined carbohydrates, or if they’re lacking in the diet, they will be taken from other sources within the body.
Consequently, blood vessels, bones and especially the nerves and the nerve sheaths suffer in an attempt to help satisfy the body’s metabolic need for calcium.
