There are a lot of instances in the body where scar tissue will start to develop. After surgery, scar tissue will develop where the surgical incision is in the skin. If muscles and tendons were either cut or repaired, scar tissue will then develop there.
After injuries such as a hamstring tear or rotator cuff tear, scar tissue will develop in the muscle as it starts to heal. Bony scar tissue, known as callus, will form on the bone after a fracture. Scar tissue itself is the body’s normal method for healing body parts that have been injured. Scar tissue forms, it’s remodeled over time, and the scar tissue starts to behave as if it’s a normal and healthy tissue.
Scar tissue is formed by collagen. After an injury, your body lays down collagen that’ll become normal healthy tissues. The collagen cells are then placed near the injured tissue in a random fashion, and this then leads to scar tissues (normal healthy collegen is aligned in specific ways and directions that help give your tissue strength).
