For Brain Tumor:
Folic acid-rich diets can help prevent the spread of cancer cells. It’s recommended to include 400 mgs of folic acid in your daily diet. Folic acid can be obtained from foods like:
- spinach
- leafy vegetables
- beans
- rice
- fruits like oranges, berries, etc
However, supplementing folic acid still adds some value because of its better absorption rate.
A new study in the current issue of Pediatrics shows that folic acid fortification of foods could have the potential to lower the number of incidences of Wilm’s timor, the most common type of kidney cancer, and primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET), a type of brain tumor in children.
